Ryan Howard Nicknaming Contest

15

by user Christof

It has come to the attention of the general mass media that Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard lacks a nickname. Now, I have already called him the "Greatest Home Run Hitter of the Post-Steriod Era" on ArmchairGM.com, but that title is just a little too long for everday use. So, this column asks the reader what Howard's nickname should be.

At the Phillies game today, there was a sign that called Howard "Howitzer." Now, personally, I think this is a cool nickname. However, there may be one better out there. So lets hear them, or do you agree that Howitzer is Howard's best potential nickname?

In the tradition of another home-run hitting Philadelphia legend/HoFer Frank Baker...

Ryan "Home Run" Howard (Baker only hit 93 in his career)

or go the Stooges route: Ryan "Moe/Curly" Howard

haha these nicknames stink. he has such a plain name that its hard to make anything special out of it. like, doug mientkiewicz' name is impossible to pronounce, but easy to make a nickname out of. how about we just call ryan howard "the homerun machine" ? plain and simple, everyone understands it.
