Russ Wrightstone (Russell Guy Wrightstone) was born on March 18, 1893 in Bowmansdale, Pennsylvania. He made his Major League debut on April 19, 1920 for the Philadelphia Phillies. In 1920, his rookie year, he hit .262 with 3 home runs and 17 RBI. Wrightstone played for the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Giants over the course of his 9 year career.

Most people believe that Russ Wrightstone's best season was 1927, when he hit for a .306 average and knocked in 75 runs.
