Russ Reader (Russell Burton Reader) was born on June 26, 1923 in Ypsilanti, Michigan. After going to high school at Dearborn (MI), Reader attended Michigan State University. Reader made his professional debut in the NFL in 1947 with the Chicago Bears. He played for the Chicago Bears for his entire 1 year career.
