Russ Francis (Russell Ross Francis) was born on April 3, 1953 in Seattle, Washington. After going to high school at Kailua (Oahu, HI) and Pleasnt Hill (OR), Francis attended the University of Oregon. Francis made his professional debut in the NFL in 1975 with the New England Patriots. He played for the New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers over the course of his 13 year career.

Most people believe that 1980 was Russ Francis's best year, as he hauled in 41 receptions, had 664 receiving yards and caught 8 TD passes.
