Russ Christopher

Born on September 12, 1917 in Richmond, California, Russ Christopher (Russell Ormand Christopher) played for the Philadelphia Athletics and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 7 year career. Christopher broke into the bigs on April 14, 1942 with the Philadelphia Athletics, and put up a 3.82 ERA in 165 innings pitched in 1942, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Russ Christopher's best season was 1945, when he posted a 3.17 ERA, won 13 games and struck out 100 batters.
