Russ Bolinger (Russell Dean Bolinger) was born on September 10, 1954 in Wichita, Kansas. After going to high school at Lompoc (CA), Bolinger attended California State University, Long Beach and the University of California, Riverside. Bolinger made his professional debut in the NFL in 1976 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Rams over the course of his 9 year career.
