Rumors about All-Star Pitchers and D-Backs manager gets contract extension

7

I heard on ESPN Radio that there is a rumor that Bud Selig will make a rule change that says "An All-Star Pitcher will be allowed to go to the All-Star game but will not be on the active roster and must be replaced if the pitcher pitched on the Sunday before the All-Star game. The other rumor is that any pitcher selected for the All-Star game will not be allowed tho pitch on that Sunday before the All-Star game. These rule changes might happen because of all the N.L pitchers that were unable to pitch.

On another note Arizona Diamondbacks manager Bob Melvin has agreed to a 2 year contract extension with a club option for a 3rd. This extension has been called the worst keep secret in baseball because it was first reported in the last series before the All-Star break but only official released today.

By the way this is my first article so any help would be very nice.

Congrats Bud! Another rule change none of us care about instead of addressing any of the real problems in baseball.

you can't go an change a teams rotation because a bunch of AS pitchers pitched on the sunday before the AS game. Selig is not changing the rules of the AS game for his benifit FOX is pressuring him because they want bigger ratings and not having all the chosen players pitch or play doesn't help.

Changing the rules every year to make the following one better doesn't help either and if this "rule" goes through it will 100% ruin and destroy the INTEGRITY of baseball. you won't get emails telling you to vote for all-stars,instead they will be emails telling you not to vote for them.

Selig needs to die or resign.

The rule is a good one, but speaking as a Mets fan, it's pretty clear the Mets abused it this year w/Glavine. He should have started one of the two games on Saturday -- that is, it was his turn -- but the Mets inexplicably moved him to Sunday. Hmm....

If I was a manager, I'd ignore the rule and dare Bud to do something. I'd dare him to tell me who I can and can't play. It's my job to win games first and foremost, not mae the all star game cool.
