Rufus Bess (Rufus T. Bess, Jr.) was born on September 13, 1956 in Hartsville, South Carolina. After going to high school at Butler (Hartsville, SC), Bess attended South Carolina State University. Bess made his professional debut in the NFL in 1979 with the Oakland Raiders. He played for the Minnesota Vikings, Buffalo Bills and Oakland Raiders over the course of his 9 year career.
Most people believe that 1984 was Rufus Bess's best year, as he picked off 3 passes.
