Born on January 5, 1888 in Lehigh, Oklahoma, Rube Foster (George Foster) played for the Boston Red Sox for his entire 5 year career. Foster broke into the bigs on April 10, 1913 with the Boston Red Sox, and put up a 3.16 ERA in 68.1 innings pitched in 1913, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Rube Foster's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1915, when he posted a 2.11 ERA, won 19 games and struck out 82 batters. However, others believe that it was 1914, when he posted a 1.70 ERA, won 14 games and struck out 89 batters.
