Born on September 19, 1916 in Carlock, South Dakota, Rube Fischer (Reuben Walter Fischer) played for the New York Giants for his entire 5 year career. Fischer broke into the bigs on September 12, 1941 with the New York Giants, and put up a 4.61 ERA in 130.2 innings pitched in 1943, his rookie year.
