Royce Smith (Royce Lionel Smith) was born on June 7, 1949 in Savannah, Georgia. After going to high school at Groves (Savannah, GA), Smith attended the University of Georgia. Smith made his professional debut in the NFL in 1972 with the New Orleans Saints. He played for the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints over the course of his 5 year career.
