Guess the Royals will not beat the New York Mets record for most losses in a season.

My gosh, that was truly one of the most pathetic things I've ever seen. From a playing standpoint, and from a managing standpoint. The Royals were obviously on their game with the bats yesterday. So, why with a bullpen that features two pitchers in Borkowski and Lidge, who have both been really hot lately, did Garner have Qualls in, when he's given up 3 runs on 7 hits in his last 4.2 innings? Coming into the game, Qualls had a 5.79 ERA for June. Why was he pitching him instead of Wheeler, who has an ERA of 2.84 in June, has not allowed a run or a walk in his last 4.1 innings and has allowed just 4 hits in his last 5.2 innings? Why was he pitching him isntead of Borkowski, who has an ERA of 3.82 and has not allowed a run in his last six innings, and is perfectly capable of going three or four innings in relief just in case the game goes long? Why was he pitching him instead of Lidge, who is also perfectly capable of going a couple of innings, and has had a resurgence of late, converting each of his last six save opportunities, has struck out 18 in his last 12 innings of work, and has an ERA of 2.57 in June? Oh, and he also hasn't allowed a homerun since April.

Don't get me wrong, I like Qualls and what he brings to the team. But, considering the situation, he should not have been in the game.
