Royal Cathcart (Royal Jensen Cathcart) was born on April 8, 1926 in Canute, Oklahoma. After going to high school at Polytechnic (Long Beach, CA), Cathcart attended Compton JC and the University of Califronia, Santa Barbara. Cathcart made his professional debut in the NFL in 1950 with the San Francisco 49ers. He played for the San Francisco 49ers for his entire 1 year career.
