Roy Simmons (Roy Franklin Simmons) was born on November 8, 1956 in Savannah, Georgia. After going to high school at Alfred E. Beach (Savannah, GA), Simmons attended Georgia Institure of Technology. Simmons made his professional debut in the NFL in 1979 with the New York Giants. He played for the New York Giants and Washington Redskins over the course of his 4 year career.
