Born on April 25, 1907 in Lambertville, Michigan, Roy Parmelee (Leroy Earl Parmelee) played for the New York Giants, St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs and Philadelphia Athletics over the course of his 10 year career. Parmelee broke into the bigs on September 28, 1929 with the New York Giants, and put up a 3.68 ERA in 58.2 innings pitched in 1931, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Roy Parmelee's best season was 1933, when he posted a 3.17 ERA, won 13 games and struck out 132 batters.
