Roy Mackert (Charles Leroy Mackert) was born on February 2, 1894 in Sunbury, Pennsylvania. Mackert attended Lebanon Valley College and the University of Maryland. Mackert made his professional debut in the NFL in 1925 with the Rochester Jeffersons. He played for the Rochester Jeffersons for his entire 1 year career.
