Roy Lumpkin (Roy Lee Lumpkin) was born on January 27, 1907 in Jefferson, Texas. After going to high school at (Dallas, TX), Lumpkin attended Georgia Institure of Technology. Lumpkin made his professional debut in the NFL in 1930 with the Portsmouth Spartans. He played for the Portsmouth Spartans, Brooklyn Dodgers and Detroit Lions over the course of his 8 year career.

Most people believe that 1930 was Roy Lumpkin's best year.
