Born on March 19, 1874 in Knoxville, Tennessee, Roy Evans (Roy Evans) played for the St. Louis Perfectos, Louisville Colonels, Washington Senators, New York Giants, Brooklyn Superbas and St. Louis Browns over the course of his 5 year career. Evans broke into the bigs on May 15, 1897 with the St. Louis Perfectos, and put up a 5.10 ERA in 72.1 innings pitched in 1897, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Roy Evans's best season was 1902, when he posted a 3.00 ERA, won 13 games and struck out 83 batters.
