Born on May 27, 1955 in Highland Park, Illinois, Ross Baumgarten (Ross Baumgarten) played for the Chicago White Sox and Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of his 5 year career. Baumgarten broke into the bigs on August 16, 1978 with the Chicago White Sox, and put up a 3.54 ERA in 190.2 innings pitched in 1979, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Ross Baumgarten's best season was 1979, when he posted a 3.54 ERA, won 13 games and struck out 72 batters.
