Rosey Grier (Roosevelt Grier) was born on July 14, 1932 in Cuthbert, Georgia. After going to high school at Roselle (Roselle Park, NJ), Grier attended Pennsylvania State University. Grier made his professional debut in the NFL in 1955 with the New York Giants. He played for the New York Giants and Los Angeles Rams over the course of his 11 year career.

Most people believe that 1956 was Rosey Grier's best year, as he recovered 3 opponents fumbles.
