Ron Shearer (Ronald Elmer Shearer) was born on September 12, 1905 in Creston, Iowa. After going to high school at West (Des Moines, IA), Shearer attended Drake University. Shearer made his professional debut in the NFL in 1930 with the Portsmouth Spartans. He played for the Portsmouth Spartans for his entire 1 year career.
