Born on July 1, 1937 in Dayton, Ohio, Ron Nischwitz (Ronald Lee Nischwitz) played for the Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 4 year career. Nischwitz broke into the bigs on September 4, 1961 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 3.90 ERA in 64.2 innings pitched in 1962, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Ron Nischwitz's best season was 1962, when he posted a 3.90 ERA.
