[edit] Biography

Born on March 9, 1932 in Callery, Pennsylvania, Ron Kline (Ronald Lee Kline) played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, St. Louis Cardinals, Los Angeles Angels, Detroit Tigers, Washington Senators, Minnesota Twins, San Francisco Giants, Boston Red Sox and Atlanta Braves over the course of his 17 year career. Kline broke into the bigs on April 21, 1952 with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and put up a 5.49 ERA in 78.2 innings pitched in 1952, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Ron Kline's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1965, when he posted a 2.63 ERA, notched 29 saves and struck out 52 batters. However, others believe that it was 1968, when he posted a 1.68 ERA and won 12 games.
