Ron Hassey (Ronald William Hassey) was born on February 27, 1953 in Tucson, Arizona. He made his Major League debut on April 23, 1978 for the Cleveland Indians. In 1979, his rookie year, he hit .287 with 4 home runs and 32 RBI. Hassey played for the Cleveland Indians, Chicago Cubs, New York Yankees, Chicago White Sox, Oakland Athletics and Montreal Expos over the course of his 14 year career.

Most people believe that Ron Hassey's best season was 1980, when he hit for a .318 average and knocked in 65 runs.
