Born on July 11, 1947 in Jefferson, Texas, Ron Cook (Ronald Wayne Cook) played for the Houston Astros for his entire 2 year career. Cook broke into the bigs on April 10, 1970 with the Houston Astros, and put up a 3.72 ERA in 82.1 innings pitched in 1970, his rookie year.
