Ron Billingsley (Ronald Smith Billingsley) was born on April 6, 1945 in Florence, Alabama. After going to high school at Gadsden (AL), Billingsley attended the University of Wyoming. Billingsley made his professional debut in the AFL in 1967 with the San Diego Chargers. He played in the AFL for 3 years, playing for the San Diego Chargers the entire time. Billingsley also played in the NFL for 3 years, playing for the Houston Oilers and San Diego Chargers over the course of his 3 year NFL career.

Most people believe that 1971 was Ron Billingsley's best year.
