Roman Phifer (Roman Zubinski Phifer) was born on March 5, 1968 in Plattsburgh, New York. After going to high school at South Mecklenburg (Pineville, NC), Phifer attended the University of California - Los Angeles. Phifer made his professional debut in the NFL in 1991 with the Los Angeles Rams. He played for the Los Angeles Rams, St. Louis Rams, New England Patriots, New York Jets and New York Giants over the course of his 15 year career.

Most people believe that 1998 was Roman Phifer's best year, as he recorded 6.5 sacks.
