Born on September 18, 1958 in Bellaire, Michigan, Roger Mason (Roger Leroy Mason) played for the Detroit Tigers, San Francisco Giants, Houston Astros, Pittsburgh Pirates, San Diego Padres, Philadelphia Phillies and New York Mets over the course of his 9 year career. Mason broke into the bigs on September 4, 1984 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 4.80 ERA in 60 innings pitched in 1986, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Roger Mason's best season was 1992, when he posted a 4.09 ERA and struck out 56 batters.
