Roger Goodell Doesn't Like His Image

15
Vote

by Kenrick Thomas

He has become the man with the big hand. Not given anyone breaks. If any athlete makes a mistake, they will be taken care of.

He isn't Paul Tagliabue with the soft attitude. He is the new NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, and he is here to shake up the NFL.

Goodell hasn't been the commissioner for two years, and he already has made good progress.

Punishing these troubling NFL athletes who don't know how to act.

The way Goodell is going, he will go down as one of the best NFL commissioners.

The NFL biggest problem, is their image. Having a commissioner with a soft running style isn't going to help. They need a Roger Goodell, who doesn't care how good of an athlete a person is. You do the crime, you do the time.

Former NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue, was a quiet person. Never was known to be a tough commissioner. With the things that are happening in the NFL, Paul Tagliabue wouldn't have made it.

Roger Goodell has handle everything good for his first year. Not having a bad image. He is doing what everyone wants, and that's clear up the image.

In a interview with ESPN, Goodell has said he doesn't like his image. Having the bad hand is not what he wants to be known for.

It's good for the NFL. They need a commissioner like Roger Goodell, because these players are getting out of hand.

Tagliabue wouldn't have been able to handle this trouble. Tennessee Titans cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones, Chicago Bears linebacker Lance Briggs, and Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick. All of this would have been trouble for Tagliabue.

Goodell has done a good job. No complaints from anyone. He is doing his job, perfect.

He is doing what all the other commissioners are scare to do, and that's suspend athletes. Many commissioners wouldn't suspend an athletes for a long period of time, if he is valuable to the league. Roger Goodell doesn't work like that, he believe in punishment.

With Goodell being able to punish athletes, is good for the league. Now athletes will understand, that they can't get away with anything. That will cause them to change their behavior.

Suspending New England Patriots Rodney Harrison for his use of human growth hormone, was good. Even though Rodney Harrison admitted to using it, suspending him was still a good idea.

He gave the NFL a bad image, and now everyone is going to worry about this league. Is the NFL clean? How we know their isn't any HGH involvement going on?

Rodney should have been suspended, because this leagues image has already taken a fall.

Goodell came in at the right time. Just when everything started to fall, Goodell picked it up.

Right now, the NFL image has gotten worse. The NFL image is worse than Major League Baseball.

Players telling untruth to Goodell, and breaking their contracts.

The NFL has gotten to it's worse, and it's good that Goodell is the commissioner. If anyone can turn this around, it Goodell.

Goodell has said he will consider changing the Pro Bowl. Putting it between the last game of the playoffs, and the Super Bowl.

This would be a good idea. When the Super Bowl is over, everyone forgets about the Pro Bowl. Making it between the past playoffs game, and the Super Bowl would bring more interest in this game.

These chargers are good, because he wouldn't be just know for punishing player. Goodell can also make changes to help the league.

Expect Roger Goodell to stick around. It's hard finding a commissioner like Roger Goodell.

I was unaware of the NFL's poor image. I'm under the impression it is one of if the most popular sports in america. Micheal Vick did not taint the NFL and Harrison was barely news.

I still don't think the NFL is going through trouble. when we start seeing empty stadiums like in baseball and hockey, then we can talk about a poor image.

My only problem with this is that your writing as if the people who proceeded Goodell never had to deal with these things. Pauly T, had the mid-90s Cowboys and a myrad of other dumbasses including but not limited to Jamal Lewis and Rae-Rae Carruth. Pauly take on things was that his role was to grow the game and handle on-field issues, the law should deal with law issues, not the employer. Goodell isn't a lawyer like Paul is and he doesn't see things through the rose-colored glasses of law school so he approaches the job differently, not better in my opinion, just differently.
