Born on August 18, 1927 in Amsterdam, New York, Roger Bowman (Roger Clinton Bowman) played for the New York Giants and Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of his 5 year career. Bowman broke into the bigs on September 22, 1949 with the New York Giants, and put up a 4.82 ERA in 65.1 innings pitched in 1953, his rookie year.
