Roethlisberger: Having a Career Year

Just two short years after his motorcycle accident, in which he had 7 hours of surgery, and lost a litttle weight, as well, Pittsburgh Steelers QB, Ben Roethlisberger is leading his team to a 9-4 record, and having a great year in the process. Roethlisberger was the leader interceptions thrown last year, with 23, as his Steelers missed the playoffs with an 8-8 record. Roethlisberger has a career-high QB Rating (101.4), and TD passes (29), and there is still 3 games to go. Another good thing, is that Big Ben has not missed a game yet (knock on wood), but he is questionable for Sunday's game at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars, who are also 9-4.
Roethlisberger is the hardest QB to tackle, if you have ever watched him, you'll know that. He can shake off would-be tacklers, and scramble to the left or right, and hit a wide open Hines Ward for a first down. He never even takes his eyes off the receivers, it's amazing, and personally, I don't know how he does it. Pittsburgh is 7-0 at home this year, and have outscored opponents 309-189 this year. Steelers RB, Willie Parker, is also a big reason the Steelers are having a great season. Parker is the NFL's leading rusher, with 1,217 yards on the ground, but just 2 TD's, and he has the most 100+ rushing games this year, with 7.
Having NFL's #1 defense helps out as well, allowing just 245.5 total yards a game. Roethlisberger has no pressure on him when he's got the number 1 defense, best RB, and a fantastic 3rd down WR in Hines Ward. All of these factors may lead him to having the best year of his short, 4-year career. But, it would be even better if it ended with another Super Bowl Championship, although, that isn't likely. The Steelers can clinch the title with a win, and a Cleveland Browns loss this weekend.
Roethlisberger's '07 Stats:
233 for 352, 66.2%, 2,751 Yards, 26 TD, 11 INT, 101.4 Rating
GOOD NEWS: Although, Roethlisberger is questionable for Sunday's game (like I said earlier), the Steelers will have Pro Bowl Safety, Troy Polamalu, back in the lineup for Sunday.
