Rod Manuel (Roderick Demond Manuel) was born on October 8, 1974 in Fort Worth, Texas. After going to high school at Western Hills (Fort Worth, TX), Manuel attended the University of Oklahoma. Manuel made his professional debut in the NFL in 1997 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers for his entire 2 year career.
