Roberts Gets 3 Million from Orioles

The Baltimore Orioles signed second baseman Brian Roberts on a one-year, $3.075 million contract, avoiding arbitration. Roberts asked for $3.6 million and the Orioles offered $2.4 million. Robert's opening day status is uncertain, because of a lingering elbow injury.

Roberts brokeout last year batting .314, hitting 18 homers, and knocking-in 73 runs in 143 games

BABIP, or a quick estimate, jumped from .315 to about .343. That's ridiculous. He'll fall back to earth. Assuming 600 AB, I'm guessing he'll have about 15 HR and hit about .290 (.360 OBP). I'd take it, too!
