Roberto Ortiz (Roberto Gonzalo (Nunez) Ortiz) was born on June 30, 1915 in Camaguey, Cuba. He made his Major League debut on September 6, 1941 for the Washington Senators. In 1944, his rookie year, he hit .253 with 5 home runs and 35 RBI. Ortiz played for the Washington Senators and Philadelphia Athletics over the course of his 6 year career.
