Born on June 19, 1957 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Bob Gibson (Robert Louis Gibson) played for the Milwaukee Brewers and New York Mets over the course of his 5 year career. Gibson broke into the bigs on April 13, 1983 with the Milwaukee Brewers, and put up a 3.90 ERA in 80.2 innings pitched in 1983, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Bob Gibson's best season was 1985, when he posted a 3.90 ERA, notched 11 saves and struck out 53 batters.
