Bob Bowman (Robert Leroy Bowman) was born on May 10, 1931 in Laytonville, California. He made his Major League debut on April 16, 1955 for the Philadelphia Phillies. In 1957, his rookie year, he hit .266 with 6 home runs and 23 RBI. Bowman played for the Philadelphia Phillies for his entire 5 year career.

Most people believe that Bob Bowman's best season was 1958, when he hit for a .288 average.
