Rob Sperring (Robert Walter Sperring) was born on October 10, 1949 in San Francisco, California. He made his Major League debut on August 11, 1974 for the Chicago Cubs. In 1975, his rookie year, he hit .208 with 1 home run and 9 RBI. Sperring played for the Chicago Cubs and Houston Astros over the course of his 4 year career.
