Born on January 24, 1964 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Rob Dibble (Robert Keith Dibble) played for the Cincinnati Reds, Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 7 year career. Dibble broke into the bigs on June 29, 1988 with the Cincinnati Reds, and put up a 1.82 ERA in 59.1 innings pitched in 1988, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Rob Dibble's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1991, when he posted a 3.17 ERA, notched 31 saves and struck out 124 batters. However, others believe that it was 1990, when he posted a 1.74 ERA, notched 11 saves and struck out 136 batters.
