Rip Williams (Alva Mitchell Williams) was born on January 31, 1882 in Carthage, Illinois. He made his Major League debut on April 12, 1911 for the Boston Red Sox. In 1911, his rookie year, he hit .239 with 0 home runs and 31 RBI. Williams played for the Boston Red Sox, Washington Senators and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 7 year career.
