Riley Gunnels (John Riley Gunnels) was born on September 24, 1937 in Atlanta, Georgia. After going to high school at Calhoun (GA), Gunnels attended the University of Georgia. Gunnels made his professional debut in the NFL in 1960 with the Philadelphia Eagles. He played for the Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers over the course of his 7 year career.
Most people believe that 1966 was Riley Gunnels's best year.
