Ricky Williams Suspended for 2006

Same story, new year. The NFL suspended Miami Dolphins RB Ricky Williams for the entire 2006 season. Why? Williams violated the league's substance abuse policy for the fourth time. The league announced the suspension after the NFL denied an appeal of his latest positive drug test. Williams said the following in a statement released by the team: "I'm proud of my association with the National Football League and look forward to returning to the Dolphins in 2007."

This is so disappointing. Honestly, it's sad for me to see so much wasted talent. Coming out of college, he was one of the best running backs in history. He broke the NCAA rushing record, even though he wasn't a starter until halfway through his sophmore year. Now he's just another story of a player that got mixed up in bad stuff and let his laziness get the best of him. Truly sad.

Why can't you imagine that? Lots of people just smoke weed. At least, in terms of doing illegal drugs.

That's not exactly right. ESPN says that several sources (whom are not named or indicated) said that it was not marijuana. But, that's still an awfully good indicator that it wasn't. I hadn't read that before.
