Ricky Stone
[edit] Biography
Born on February 28, 1975 in Hamilton, Ohio, Ricky Stone (Ricky L. Stone) played for the Houston Astros, San Diego Padres and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 5 year career. Stone broke into the bigs on September 21, 2001 with the Houston Astros, and put up a 3.61 ERA in 77.1 innings pitched in 2002, his rookie year.
There is some disagreement on what was Ricky Stone's most productive season. Some believe that it was 2003, when he posted a 3.69 ERA. However, others believe that it was 2002, when he posted a 3.61 ERA and struck out 63 batters.
Stone is also one of the players named in baseball's Mitchell Report. According to the report, former minor league strength and conditioning coach for the Albuquerque Dukes, Todd Seyler, observed Stone inject himself with Deca-Durabolin. Stone, like many other players, declined to speak with investigators for the Mitchell Report.
