Ricky Sanders (Ricky Wayne Sanders) was born on September 30, 1960 in Temple, Texas. After going to high school at Belton (TX), Sanders attended Southwest Texas State University. Sanders made his professional debut in the NFL in 1986 with the Washington Redskins. He played for the Washington Redskins and Atlanta Falcons over the course of his 10 year career.

Most people believe that 1988 was Ricky Sanders's best year, as he hauled in 73 receptions, had 1148 receiving yards and caught 12 TD passes.
