Born on July 30, 1959 in Poughkeepsie, New York, Ricky Horton (Ricky Neal Horton) played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 7 year career. Horton broke into the bigs on April 7, 1984 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 3.44 ERA in 125.2 innings pitched in 1984, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Ricky Horton's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1987, when he posted a 3.82 ERA and struck out 55 batters. However, others believe that it was 1984, when he posted a 3.44 ERA and struck out 76 batters.
