Ricky Foley
[edit] BiographyAcquired: Selected in the first round (fourth overall) by the B.C. Lions in the 2006 CFL Canadian Draft. 2006: Joining the Lions after a free agent mini-camp stint with Baltimore of the NFL, Foley made his professional debut versus Toronto (June 30/06). Appeared in 16 regular season games as well as the West Championship and 2006 Grey Cup. A standout on special teams, Foley recorded nine STT as well as two defensive tackles and a fumble recovery during the regular season. Ricky also chipped in two STT in the 2006 Grey Cup. College: First team OUA All-Star for second straight season. Seventh in the OUA in total tackles in 2005. 2004: A second team CIS All-Canadian and a first team OUA All-Star, he was named York's Defensive Player of the Year. He recorded 32 tackles, five assists, two interceptions and a CIS-leading nine sacks. He led all OUA defensive ends in tackles. 2003: Started every game, finishing the season tied for fourth in the CIS with six sacks. He recorded 26 tackles and seven assists. Personal: During the off season, Ricky spends as much time as possible on the family farm in Courtice, Ontario. He enjoys working on vintage cars during his spare time. In high school, Ricky was a decathlete. He competed in the shot put with York's track and field team in 2004, and never played an organized football game until he attended York.
