[edit] Biography

Born on April 7, 1969 in Salinas, Puerto Rico, Ricky Bones (Ricardo Ricky Bones) played for the San Diego Padres, Milwaukee Brewers, New York Yankees, Kansas City Royals, Cincinnati Reds, Baltimore Orioles and Florida Marlins over the course of his 11 year career. Bones broke into the bigs on August 11, 1991 with the San Diego Padres, and put up a 4.83 ERA in 54 innings pitched in 1991, his rookie year.

[edit] Mitchell Report

In late June 2000, a clubhouse attendant with the Florida Marlins brought a paper bag to the club’s athletic trainers that had been found in the locker of Marlins pitcher Ricky Bones. The bag contained over two dozen syringes, six vials of injectable medications – stanozolol and nandrolone decanoate, two anabolic steroids that are sold under the names Winstrol and Deca-Durabolin, respectively – and a page of handwritten instructions on how to administer the drugs. Soon thereafter, the athletic trainers returned the bag and its contents to Bones at his request. When questioned by Mitchell, Bones admitted that he had procured the steroids from a doctor in his native Puerto Rico and then administered them to himself.

Most people believe that Ricky Bones's best season was 1994, when he posted a 3.43 ERA, won 10 games and struck out 57 batters.
