Born on May 15, 1952 in Atlanta, Georgia, Rick Waits (Michael Richard Waits) played for the Texas Rangers, Cleveland Indians and Milwaukee Brewers over the course of his 12 year career. Waits broke into the bigs on September 17, 1973 with the Texas Rangers, and put up a 2.94 ERA in 70.1 innings pitched in 1975, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Rick Waits's best season was 1978, when he posted a 3.20 ERA, won 13 games and struck out 97 batters.
