Rick Sofield (Richard Michael Sofield) was born on December 16, 1956 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He made his Major League debut on April 6, 1979 for the Minnesota Twins. In 1980, his rookie year, he hit .247 with 9 home runs and 49 RBI. Sofield played for the Minnesota Twins for his entire 3 year career.
