Rick Byas (Richard Reese Byas, Jr.) was born on October 19, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan. After going to high school at Mackenzie (Detroit, MI), Byas attended Eastern Michigan University and Wayne State University. Byas made his professional debut in the NFL in 1974 with the Atlanta Falcons. He played for the Atlanta Falcons for his entire 7 year career.

Most people believe that 1977 was Rick Byas's best year, as he picked off 3 passes and ran back an interception for a touchdown.
