Rick Ackerman (Richard Carl Ackerman) was born on June 16, 1959 in La Grange, Illinois. After going to high school at Glenbard North (Carol Stream, IL), Ackerman attended the University of Memphis. Ackerman made his professional debut in the NFL in 1982 with the San Diego Chargers. He played for the San Diego Chargers and Los Angeles Raiders over the course of his 4 year career.

Most people believe that 1982 was Rick Ackerman's best year.
